A bystander’s guide to harassment

And why do you need to know this?

Letters threatening that President-elect Donald Trump will do to Muslims what Adolf Hitler “did to the Jews” were sent to three California mosques last week, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR.

The handwritten letter, which referred to Muslims as “children of Satan,” was mailed to Islamic centers in San Jose in Northern California and Long Beach and Pomona in Southern California. It called Trump the “new sherriff [sic] in town” who will “cleanse America and make it shine again” by eradicating the country’s Muslim population.

The election proved there are millions of evil people in this country who truly wish harm to those who don’t look like them.

President-elect Lügenkürbis not only says nothing to stop this. He’s filling his cabinet with people who will encourage this insanity. Decent people will have to take a stand.

When you have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel …

… You shouldn’t put a water slide covered with oil under your orthopedic shoes. (From the New York Times):

Dalia Carmeli, who drives a trolley in downtown Miami, voted for Donald J. Trump on Election Day. A week later, she stopped in to see the enrollment counselor who will help her sign up for another year of health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

“I hope it still stays the same,” said Ms. Carmeli, 64, who has Crohn’s disease and relies on her insurance to cover frequent doctor’s appointments and an array of medications.

Mr. Trump and Republicans in Congress are vowing to repeal much or all of the health law, a target of their party’s contempt since the day it passed with only Democratic votes in 2010. If they succeed, they will set in motion an extraordinary dismantling of a major social program in the United States.

But for now, with open enrollment for 2017 underway, people are steadily signing up or renewing their coverage, and in conversations last week in South Florida, many refused to believe that a benefit they count on would actually be taken away.

So she voted for a candidate and party who said they’re going to take away the very thing that’s keeping her alive. Sometimes you just need to thin out the herd, I guess.

I’m finding it impossible to have any sympathy at all for pump truppets. Their stupidity is beyond cosmic proportions.

The drift toward oligarchy

Maybe “drift” is the wrong word. For some absurd reason, a swarm of pump truppets elected a bloviating billionaire (or so he says) to run the country because they saw him as a man of the people.

And this Mann des Volkes is building a cabinet containing at least two legitimate billionaires, one to run the Education Department  …

President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he would nominate Betsy DeVos, a billionaire philanthropist with deep ties to the Christian Reformed community in Michigan, as his education secretary. …

The DeVos family, heirs to the Amway Corp. fortune, are prolific donors in Michigan Republican and religious circles.

And one for the Commerce Department

Wilbur Ross, the billionaire investor considered the “king of bankruptcy” for buying beaten-down companies with the potential to deliver profits, is expected to be President-elect Donald Trump’s choice for commerce secretary, two officials with knowledge of the decision said….

Ross built his fortune buying the distressed companies that were once at the heart of American industry — steel mills, coal mines and textile factories, to name a few — and then selling them in short order, making billions of dollars along the way.

Perhaps his signature investment was the purchase of some of the nation’s largest steel mills in the early 2000s, including Cleveland-based LTV Corp. and Pennsylvania’s Bethlehem Steel. The move was credited with saving manufacturing jobs, with the United Steelworkers calling Ross “a new ally” in news reports at the time.

Since then, however, many steel mills have shut down amid a glut of foreign production, much of it in China. Ross sold his steel conglomerate to what is now ArcelorMittal in 2004 for about $4.5 billion.

So, one person’s fortune is inherited (see video above) and the other person’s billions comes from selling American steel mills to foreigners. Interesting selections. And the sunscreen slathered masses who put the Lügenkürbis in office don’t remember that the previous GOP president sank the country into a clogged feces filled toilet and that their latest choice is going to have us drowning in an even more putrid septic tank.

The muddled masses have ceded responsibility and handed the nation over to the oligarchy. Democracy was nice while it lasted.
